King Paluta Wins TGMA, 2024 New Artist Of The Year Award
King Paluta Triumphs at the 25th Telecel Ghana Music Awards, Secures Best New Artist Award
King Paluta has clinched the prestigious “Best New Artist” award at the 25th edition of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards TGMA held at the Grand Arena, Accra International Conference Center. This accolade marks his second win of the night, solidifying his place in Ghana’s music scene.
King Paluta’s First TGMA Award
The 2024 TGMA nominees for the Best New Artist category included notable talents such as Banzy Banero, DSL, Maya Blu, Olivetheboy, and Oseikrom Sikani. Each artist brought their unique flair to the competition, showcasing the vibrant diversity within the Ghanaian music industry.
In March 2024, the Ghana Music Award Academy Board revealed the nominees for this year’s awards. Categories included Artiste of the Year, Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best New Artist. The board, comprising professionals from various sectors of the music industry, such as recording artists, songwriters, producers, mixers, and engineers, ensures a comprehensive and balanced judging process.
The Trend Of This Year’s TGMA Awards
Leading the charge for the “Artiste of the Year” award are prominent names like Black Sherif, King Promise, Kuami Eugene, Nacee, Sarkodie, and Stonebwoy. This esteemed category highlights the significant contributions of these artists to the Ghanaian music landscape.
Reflecting on last year’s winners, Black Sherif took home the Artiste of the Year award along with three additional accolades. Camidoh secured the Afrobeats Song of the Year and Best Collaboration, King Promise won Album of the Year for “5 Star,” Sarkodie was named Hiplife Artiste of the Year, and Piesie Esther received both Gospel Song of the Year and Gospel Artiste of the Year.
The 25th TGMA continues to celebrate and elevate the achievements of Ghanaian musicians, with King Paluta’s double victory underscoring his rising influence and success in the industry.
